財團法人資訊工業策進會成立於1979年7月24日，以「推廣資訊技術有效應用，提升國家整體競爭力；塑造資訊工業發展環境與條件，增強資訊產業競爭力」為設立宗旨。 四十年來，資策會參與規劃研擬並推動政府各項資訊產業政策、致力資通訊前瞻研發、普及與深化資訊應用、培育資訊科技人才及參與國家資訊基礎建設等各項業務，成就備受各界肯定。 資策會積極投入包括：智慧聯網、綠能科技、資訊安全、學習科技等領域之重點研發工作，並透過技術移轉服務，協助國內業者及時掌握關鍵技術領域。另，資策會持續擴大與各界之實質合作，推動創新研發及應用、育成新興企業，結合業者拓展國際業務，持續與民興利、與產業共榮。
